Welcome to our website Troop 433 is a new troop with a lot of history In the spring of 2004, seven young, energetic Webelos earned their Arrow of Light and were ready to take on new challenges, adventures and everything else that Boy Scouts could offer. These seven scouts crossed over and joined a local troop, but unfortunately found that the troop was not prepared for such a large group of boys and could not meet their needs. The parents of these scouts wanting them to stay in scouts, started looking for a way to help, decided that the best course was to start a new troop. The Baker City Elks Lodge #338 was approached about sponsoring a new troop, they were not only willing, but were excited about having a scout troop again. As I said Troop 433 had a lot of history, the Elks shared with us that Troop 433 had been a part if the Baker Elks lodge for over 40 years, but about 10 years ago disappeared. They further told us that the troop had produced eight Eagle Scouts, and had even been responsible for starting the Baker Elks Drum and Bugle Corp. We could not have found a better group to partner with in service to the youth of Baker City. |
